Evangelicals for democracy

Joe Biden just won the election.  The battle for the soul of this nation is just beginning.  Evangelicals supported Trump by overwhelming margins because Trump supported their policy priorities.

Recently  Prof  #Wayne_Grudem eloquently and thoughtfully formulated 30 ways in which trump supported the evangelical agenda.   I disagree with him on most of these points.  I support Joe Biden because I support many of his policies.  Not just because Trump is the type of person he is.

As Christ followers we need to address these differences for His name sake.  We are His ambassadors.  We are supposed to be known to be his disciples because of our love for one another.  Not because of our righteousness  or our popularity.

I welcome feedback based on facts, logic.  These  can help clarify and improve all our reasoning.   I have no expectation to convince prof grudem or many other conservatives.  But I do believe that an honest debate can improve and nuance thinking on all sides.

Neuro science tells us that we choose on the basis of passions/emotions.   However  emotions can and should be informed by our reasoning. And that works long as our reasoning is not overwhelmed by fear and stress.

So now after the elections we may have a time to think and reason together before new choices are required and we retreat in our emotional bunkers
